Description
The project develops a transfer and sorting centre for SEUR in the Guadiel Industrial Estate, in Guarromán, Jaén. The scheme sits on plots 195 and 196 combined, with a total area of 18,631 m², and proposes a 3,869.75 m² logistics warehouse intended to organise the processes of goods reception, sorting and distribution.
The building is laid out entirely on a single storey. Most of the floor area corresponds to the main warehouse, at 3,517.68 m², while the rest of the programme houses offices, a plant area and ancillary spaces. The 10-metre clear height of the warehouse allows for a large, flexible operating space, suited to logistics activity and the internal movement of goods.
The construction responds to criteria of efficiency, speed of execution and durability. The structure is resolved with precast concrete portal frames, columns, beams and purlins, on reinforced-concrete pad foundations. The envelope combines precast concrete panels in the warehouse with a distinct treatment in the office area, where thermally broken aluminium frames and double glazing are introduced.
The project also covers the technical definition of roofs, partitions, finishes, external paving, rainwater and wastewater drainage, and elements related to industrial safety. The warehouse is conceived as a functional, robust and clear infrastructure, where architecture is placed at the service of the logistics operation, the organisation of vehicle flow and constructional reliability.
