Description
The project proposes the activation of Puerto Siles marina, in Canet de Berenguer, next to the mouth of the Palancia River. It transforms a mainly nautical infrastructure into a place of greater urban, social and leisure activity, providing a new social club and a complementary system of uses —social club, dining, leisure, retail, sailing school, conference room and lounge areas— that intensify its use throughout the year.
The layout is structured around the relationship between marina, town and beach: the most public uses sit next to the town and open onto the promenade, the restaurant connects with the seafront through a large terrace, and the lounge areas occupy the quieter points, linked to the water and the horizon.
Beyond the programme, the strategy builds a new identity through the relationship between architecture, wind, sea and movement. The organic geometries evoke the sails of boats through light, aerodynamic volumes, and integrate a bioclimatic logic —sunlight, natural ventilation and wind energy— into the form itself, understanding the building as a passive comfort device.
Puerto Siles is thus conceived as a port activation: a new, more open and recognisable meeting point between the town, sports activity, leisure and the Mediterranean landscape.
